Natalia Stasenko MS, RDN

Founder and CEO at Easy Bites, Registered Dietitian (US and UK)

LinkedIn Instagram Blog

Having struggled with feeding her first born, Natalia decided to specialize in feeding problems in children when she was still a student at Columbia University’s Nutrition Program, where she is now a guest lecturer. She created family nutrition programs for Head Start, an early childhood program of the US Department of Health and Human Services, supported families in her private practice in New York and London, co-wrote child nutrition books Baby-Led Weaning and Real Baby Food and built communities of thousands of parents on social media. Her goal with Easy Bites is to make the responsive feeding approach easy to integrate into the busy life of families across the globe so we can raise a generation of happy and confident eaters.

Natalia says: “Feeding is such an essential part of parenting and it can also be a substantial source of stress for many caregivers. But it doesn’t have to be. We now have the research and clinical tools to support families in the best possible way. The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the positive transformation both parents and children experience at mealtimes after implementing the responsive feeding practices.”

Paula Cerqueira MS, RDN

Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at Easy Bites, Registered Dietitian

Throughout her career, Paula has played a critical role in the successful development, planning, implementation and assessment of health and wellbeing programming for public health initiatives, employers, and health plans – most recently Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. Prior to joining the Easy Bites team, Paula worked for MIT’s Media Lab researching the role of innovation and technology in child behavior intervention strategies. She has also worked at Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition investigating the impact of targeted messaging campaigns in amplifying consumer demand for healthful food choices for children in quick-serve restaurants and the efficacy of school-based physical activity programming in improving the physical literacy of children in under-served communities. Paula is a professor at Simmons University, teaching courses in Leadership in Nutrition Management and Food Production and Service Systems. She has a Master of Science in Nutrition Education from Columbia University – where it was kismet that she met Natalia! Paula is a mom of two wild and amazing children – one recovering ‘picky’ eater and another that will eat anything and everything (including your fingers if you get too close).

Paula says, “I thought that being a registered dietitian meant that when I had kids, they would be perfect eaters. Nope! My oldest kid quickly and fervently trampled on that dream. Feeding and nurturing your family can be the most rewarding experience. It can also be a stress-filled, ego-annihilating battle, reminding you 3-6 times a day that you are a complete and utter failure. The good news is that there’s an easier way! I do this work because kids AND caregivers deserve stress-free meals. Let’s bring the joy back to eating.”

Dr Jo Cormack, MBACP (Reg.)

Scientific Advisor at Easy Bites, researcher, relational feeding specialist

Jo is a responsive feeding expert who specialises in the psychological aspects of child feeding. She works with parents struggling with feeding challenges ranging from developmentally normal ‘picky’ eating through to disordered eating (ARFID). Jo is the author of an award-winning book for early years educators, Helping Children Develop a Positive Relationship with Food (Jessica Kingsley Publishers). She also researches parental feeding practices and has had her work published in peer-reviewed journals. She trains feeding professionals around the world, teaching her model Emotionally Aware Feeding (EAF) which is a responsive approach to childhood feeding problems. Jo, along with international colleagues, has been instrumental in developing Responsive Feeding Therapy (RFT). As a mother of three, Jo has a realistic view of family life and her advice is compassionate and grounded in common sense.

Jo says, “I love my job because I am PASSIONATE about translating the latest science to make it usable and accessible for parents. Researchers know so much about how to give children a positive relationship with food but that doesn't help families if they don't come across their studies...  The other thing that gets me out of bed in the morning is knowing that taking an empathic, connected approach to feeding children is one of the biggest gifts a parent can give a child. Having a job where I get to help support that every day, is a privilege.”

Rachael Gordon RD

Pediatric Dietitian at Easy Bites

Rachael has worked as a Specialist Pediatric Dietitian in a busy acute hospital in the UK for the past 7 years. Her role has involved working with children aged 0-18 years to navigate nutritional challenges ranging from faltering growth, weaning, tube feeding, metabolic conditions, allergy and nutritional deficiency. Rachael is registered with the HCPC (The Health and Care Professional Council) and also a member of the BDA (British Dietetic Association). She regularly partakes in the training of dietetic students, as well as holding a mentor role to support students during training.

Being a mum to three young children means that Rachael have first hand experience of the weaning process and feeding a family, including both the challenges and joyful times that come along with those experiences.

Rachael says: Child nutrition is an exciting area to work in. Research continues to evolve and underpins the support and advice I can provide to support children and their families when it comes to navigating their diet and nutrition. To support families and empower parents to raise intuitive eaters is a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding role. It’s an honor to join the Easy Bites team and support their mission.

In addition to spending time with her family, she loves to sing, cook from scratch, and grow things in her garden.

Suzanne says: “My approach to therapy with children, parents and other helpers is rooted in a holistic understanding of natural human development, within the context of family and caregiving relationships built upon trust. The steady and constant rhythm of feeding and shared mealtimes offers the ultimate opportunity for this kind of trust between parent and child to grow. I believe not only in listening to children, but in listening and learning with them, and find this way of being with children to be the greatest source of joy and inspiration in my work. My mission is to support and equip parents with the skills to succeed in listening to, being with and caring for their children within their daily routines, in ways that reflect their own beliefs, values and unique family story.”
